Happy Vernal Equinox!

20130320-164004.jpg My granddad owns a house on the shore in Delaware, and every year we have to come down to open it up, turn on the water and heat, etc. etc., so that it's fit for habitation and renting during the summer.  My mother decided at the last minute that taking two of our four cats was a good idea, because a) we have a really old cat that needs a lot of attention and b) she wants another of our cats to get used to riding in the van so he can drive across the country to Portland, OR, when the time comes.  That was exciting.  Travel!cat wanted nothing to do with the trip and made that clear enough several times (on the floor of the van), and old!cat just kind of slunk around and hid under the seats.  But ultimately, it was a successful 3 hour trip.

(As an aside, this is the beach at which my novella Busy Doing Nothing takes place.)

I spent the whole ride down here thinking thoughts about my new WIP (terrible working title: The Accidental Dad - single dad meets hot librarian, they totally do it, then they fall in love).  Then I discovered, as I risked carsickness jotting down notes in a notebook, an app for my phone called Index Card.  I love index cards.  I can't get enough of them.  And this will sync to Scrivener!  Apparently.  I haven't tried that yet.  But it's exactly the storyboarding/index card making/outlining app I was looking for.  I can make cards with a title, synopsis, notes (that when you turn the screen landscape-wise appear on the "back"), and long text!  I can label the cards with colors and also put them in stacks for subsets (character stack!  conflict stack!).  I'm in heaven.  Writing on the iPhone isn't ideal, because I have giant hot dog thumbs, but it's an organizational system, and I fucking love those.

But now I need to focus on the prompt that I claimed for the Love Has No Boundaries event in the M/M Romance group on Goodreads.  There are diamond thieves!  Two of them!  Should be awesome and snarky and sextastic!  Maybe I'll go outline for that right now.  :D

Fingers crossed for real spring, you guys.  I need to get outside.

Busy Week
