Now Out: Femme Friday
Here's a quick one for you! I was asked to write an essay on Mary Sutherland of "A Case of Identity", and how she deserved better than she got. She came to Sherlock Holmes with a pretty serious case of rotten family members, and he does her wrong. The end of this story involves, I argue, one of the least honorable things Sherlock Holmes has ever done.
All the essays in here are in celebration of the women of Sherlock Holmes, from canon to the BBC! There is also an excellent selection of art, which makes your choice between color and b&w quite difficult. Enjoy!
This volume is a collection of essays on the women in the Sherlock Holmes stories as well as in adaptations and pastiches. It consists partly of the Baker Street Babes’ contributions to our tumblr series Femme Friday, as well as essays written after we posted a call for contributions on our social media.
